Simple Way to Save

Does your bank offer a program where they put a set amount in a savings account each month?

My bank takes $1 for every debit purchase and deposits it in a high-yield savings account. Other banks will round up your purchase and put it into savings. (For example, if you spend $19.40, they'll put $.60 into savings.)

Look for these programs. They should be free to sign up for and use. And, they should deposit money into a higher-than-typical interest account.
